PORTLAND, Ore. – With the Great Northwest Athletic Conference men’s and women’s basketball championships a week away, a trio of guests joined host Kevin Young to preview the tournament on the latest episode of GNAC Insider. Episode 22 is now available as a free podcast on iTunes, and for archived listening on the GNAC Stretch Internet portal under the "on-demand" tab.

Director of Athletics at Saint Martin’s University Bob Grisham, SMU women’s basketball head coach Tim Healy, and Montana State Billings men’s basketball head coach Jamie Stevens each made their debut appearances on GNAC Insider this week.

For the third consecutive year, Saint Martin’s will serve as the host for the GNAC Basketball Championships, and Grisham discussed the preparations that are underway before action kicks off next week.

Healy, whose team has secured a spot in the tournament for the first time since the 2011-12 season, provided insight as to what GNAC fans can expect to see on the women’s side of the championships.

Stevens’ Yellowjackets are coming off monumental victories over Seattle Pacific and Western Washington, and are the hottest team on the men’s side as MSUB is making a final push to grab a postseason spot. Stevens talked about his team’s late run towards the playoffs, as MSUB currently sits in a tie for fifth place and is one game ahead of sixth-place Central Washington with two games to play.

GNAC Insider airs live at 7 p.m. Pacific time every Tuesday and is produced by the conference office in conjunction with Soundbrook. All episodes become available as free podcasts via iTunes, and for archived listening via the GNAC Stretch Internet portal.
