BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings women’s soccer team recently traded their cleats and shin guards for hard hats and hammers.

The Yellowjackets linked up with the Mid-Yellowstone Habitat For Humanity to help build homes in the Billings community.

Including head coach Wojtek Krakowiak and assistant coach Eric Lona, MSUB had two groups contributing with the building efforts.

One group worked at the “ReStore” store where they helped with the organization of furniture, equipment and house supplies; and the other group worked on the building site, under the direction of local contractors.

“The team really had a great time volunteering for Habitat and Humanity,” stated Krakowiak. “The team was also fortunate to meet the future owners of the home.”

“Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful organization that helps those that are less fortunate and are in need of affordable housing,” Krakowiak said. “It’s a great way for different members of the community to work together for a common cause and we are proud to be a part of that.

"Giving back to the community is an important component of this program, especially with all the support it has provided us throughout the years.”
