Why did you choose to attend UAA?: I attended Alaska Anchorage because I loved the mountains and Alaska!

What is your favorite class you have taken in college?: I loved taking the Economy of Alaska class and learning about the history of Alaska's unique economy.

How many years were you involved in SAAC?: This is my first year.

What made you want to be involved in SAAC?: I chose to get involved in SAAC because I wanted to represent my team and be involved in the decisions made affecting us.

What is your most memorable SAAC activity to date so far?: We had a SAAC meeting and they brought in Subway for everyone, but I forgot there was a meeting and I ran a mile to make it for the sandwiches.

How do you feel participating in SAAC will help you in life after you graduate?: I believe it will help with both resumé building and displaying an element of leadership and professionalism.
 
What is the most important thing you've learned from balancing the demands of athletics and academics?: Time management.
 
What is the biggest obstacle you have overcome during your collegiate career?: Coming into college during COVID and having to do first-semester training without a formal team was an obstacle.
 
What does it mean to you to be a Division II student-athlete?: Being a Division II student-athlete means that I can represent my state and my team three seasons of the year.
 
Who are your current mentors?: My teammates, Michael Zapherson and Drew Johnson, our associate head coach for cross country and assistant coach, Chas Davis, along with assistant coach, Danielle Patterson. Our Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, Ian Marks, is also a mentor to me.

What are your future goals after graduation?: I would like to run a 100-mile trail race.


What is the best advice you would give to an incoming freshman?:
Filter your water in Alaska because it may look clear but it will give you a parasite and you will have a horrible first week of practice.

What is your favorite sports-related moment?: My first time going to cross country nationals. It was one of the hardest races and best performances of my life.

If I could spend the day with one person (past or present), who would it be (and why)?: I would spend the day with my roommate, Drew Michael Johnson, and my dog, Summit because I could play fetch with both of them all day.
 
Favorite Sports Team: New York Giants.
 
What is one thing that people don't know about you?: Cole/Coleman isn't my real name.
