Throughout the year, GNACsports.com uses this space to profile conference student-athletes who are members of their respective institutions' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). In addition to providing feedback on the student-athlete experience, conference and institutional SAAC members also offer input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses. Click here for more information on the function of SAAC at the NCAA level.

College major:
Public relations

Why did you choose to attend CWU?
I chose Central Washington University because of the excellent softball program. It is also not too far away from home, but not too close either!

What is your favorite class you have taken in college and why?
Any of the Spanish courses I've taken!

Who is your favorite professor you've had in college and what did you enjoy about learning from him or her?
Steve Woodward. He is always up to date in the media world and teaches his students the newest ways to engage in these trends. Steve has always been flexible with my softball schedule and helps me keep up with assignments, especially when traveling during season.

Years involved in SAAC:
Three

The reason I chose to get involved in SAAC:
I found SAAC as an opportunity to meet new people when I was a freshman and have enjoyed it ever since!

Most memorable SAAC activity:
The GNAC SAAC conference in Canada!

Favorite part of GNAC SAAC retreat:
Meeting other members of GNAC SAAC! I love my GNAC SAAC family!

What is the most important thing you've learned from balancing the demands of athletics and academics?
It is not easy...but it is doable. Anyone who has the motivation to find this balance can do it.

What does it mean to be a Division II student-athlete?
Balance. I am able to balance my academics with small class sizes, athletics and have somewhat of a social life.

Future goals after school:
To be a successful PR professional and find a rewarding career.

Biggest obstacle overcame during collegiate career:
Figuring out what I wanted to major in.

Best advice I’d give to an incoming freshman:
Enjoy the time you have in college! It goes by way too fast.

If I could spend the day with one person (past or present), who would it be (and why)?
My grandpa. I would give anything to have one more conversation with him.

Favorite sports team:
Seattle Seahawks

Favorite athlete:
Russell Wilson

Most memorable sports-related moment:
My entire sophomore season, especially going to regionals in Utah.

One thing that people don't know about me is:
I work at a zoo during the summer!
