PORTLAND, Ore. - A GNAC record-tying sixth 300-yard passing game has earned Western Oregon quarterback Ryan Bergman GNAC Football Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Bergman tied the GNAC record for most 300-yard passing games in a season by throwing for 335 yards in a 33-31 upset of regionally eighth-ranked Humboldt State Saturday.  He tied the record first set by Jacob Kadle of Humboldt State in 2001 and equaled by Mike Reilly of Central Washington in 2008.

He also broke the GNAC record for most consecutive 300-yard games of four by Trey Wheeler of Simon Fraser (2012) with his fifth consecutive 300-yard game.  It was also his 11th career 300-yard game, three shy of Reilly's career mark.

Following is a recap of this week's Players of the Week and a listing of honorable mention selections:

Football

Offense – Ryan Bergman, Western Oregon (QB, 6-2, 170, Sr., Issaquah, WA) completed 28 of 54 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns leading the Wolves to a 33-31 upset of regionally eighth-ranked Humboldt State. It was his league-leading sixth 300-yard game of the season.  Bergman also leads the GNAC this season with 24 touchdown passes, increasing his career total to 56, four off the school record. Defense – Trebriel Larry, Western Oregon (DB, 6-0, 185, Fr., Hillsboro, OR) had 11 tackles, including eight solos and four for losses in the Wolves’ two-point home win.   His four TFL resulted for losses of eight yards.  He also had two pass breakups. Special Teams – Jesse Zalk, Central Washington (WR, 5-8, 160, So., Battle Ground, WA - Prairie) returned three kickoffs for 124 yards, including a 90-yarder for a touchdown to start the second half.  It was the first kickoff return for a TD this fall in the GNAC.

Honorable Mention – Chad Jeffries, Azusa Pacific (QB, 6-3, 210, So., San Dimas, CA); CJ Broussard, Azusa Pacific (CB, 6-0, 190, So., Clovis, CA); Jamie Cacciatore, Alaska Anchorage (K, 5-8, 175, Jr., Orange, CA); Isaiah Davis, Central Washington (DB, 5-10, 186, Jr., Bremerton, WA – South Kitsap); Nate Stephens, Dixie State (WR, 5-9,, 160, Jr., Redding, CA - Shasta); Silas Sarvinski, Humboldt State (DT, 6-1, 265, Sr., Ferndale, CA); Trent McKinney, South Dakota Mines (QB, 6-0, 185, Jr., Mililani, HI).

Volleyball

Offense – Kayla Erickson, Western Washington (MB, 6-0, Sr., Gig Harbor, WA - Peninsula) averaged six kills and hit for a .516 percentage in sweeps of Saint Martin’s and Western Oregon.  Her 36 kills  represented 34.6 percent of the Vikings’ team total.  and her .654 percentage (17-0-26) in Thursday’s win against the Saints was the second highest in the GNAC this season.  She also led WWU in the two wins in blocks with five.  Erickson ranks second in GNAC history in career hitting percentage (.342) and needs nine more kills to reach the 1,000 career kill milestone. Defense – Christie Colasurdo, Western Oregon (OH, 5-11, So. Olympia, WA) had 67 digs, including a GNAC season and WOU career high 42 in a narrow 3-2 loss at Simon Fraser. Colasurdo, who equaled the ninth most digs in GNAC history for a five-set match against the Clan, recently moved from outside hitter to the libero position.

Honorable Mention – Catie Fry, Central Washington (S, 5-11, Jr., Tacoma, WA – Mt. Si); Elayna Rice, Northwest Nazarene (OH, 6-3, Jr., Billings, MT); Taylor Roberts, Northwest Nazarene (L, 5-5, Sr., Nampa, ID - Vallivue); Kelsey Robinson, Simon Fraser (OH, 5-11, Sr., Surrey, BC – Clayton Heights); Samantha Hutchinson, Western Washington (L, 5-7, Sr., University Place, WA - Curtis).

Men's Soccer

Offense - Fredy Razo, Northwest Nazarene (F, 5-10, Sr., Irvine, CA – El Toro) scored three goals Saturday to lead the Crusaders to a 3-0 road win at Montana State Billings. Razo currently ranks second in the GNAC in scoring with 28 points on 12 goals and four assists. Defense -  Brandon Watson, Simon Fraser (GK, 6-1, So., Victoria, BC – Coastal Carolina) and JJ Olson, Saint Martin's (GK, 5-11, Jr., Lakeville, MN) ... Watson led the Clan to a 2-0 home win against Western Washington as the Clan ran their win streak to six games.  It was SFU’s sixth shutout of the season and second in a row. “Brandon was great again this week and continued to get back into his stride after some early season injury challenges,” head coach Alan Koch said. “He is peaking at the right time and we are lucky to have him in goal for us. He is a great leader and the consummate student-athlete.” ... Olson had five saves as the Saints played nationally fifth-ranked Seattle Pacific to a scoreless tie.  The tie ended a nine-game SMU losing streak to the Falcons.

Honorable Mention - Aaron McElwee, U-Mary (M, 5-8, Sr., Sion Mills, Northern Ireland – Holy Cross); Ryan Foo, Northwest Nazarene (GK, 6-1, So., San Jose, CA – Archbishop Mitty).
