PORTLAND, Ore. – Guests for Episode 42 of GNAC Insider included Katherine Miccile from the Western Washington women’s soccer team, Jovan Blagojevic from the Simon Fraser men’s soccer team and Dr. Gary Gray, the Alaska athletic director.

Miccile is a senior defender for the 14th ranked Vikings. WWU earned the No. 1 seed in the GNAC championship tournament this week with an 11-0-3 conference record. Miccile has been a part of one GNAC championship team in 2012 in addition to playing a role in the Vikings' trip to the NCAA semifinals in 2013. Miccile discussed the Vikings tournament preparations and about being selected to the GNAC honorable mention team.

Blagojevic is the country’s fifth best scorer, also leading the conference with 17 goals. Simon Fraser is home to the conference's longest win streak at five games as well. After starting the season 3-3-2, the Clan has won seven of their past eight games and is making a push for the NCAA playoffs. Blagojevic talked about his preparation for this season and how the Clan improved upon their less than spectacular start.

Gray, the former longtime Montana State Billings AD, entered his third year as head of Nanook athletics in September. Gray represents the GNAC as part of the Division II Management Council. UAF will also host the NCAA rifle championships in March. Gray explained what the Division II Management Council does for the NCAA and gave a little insight about how UAF recieved the bid for the NCAA rifle championship.

GNAC Insider airs live at 7 p.m. Pacific time every Tuesday and is produced by the conference office. All episodes become available as free podcasts via iTunes, and for archived listening via GNAC.TV.
