PORTLAND, Ore. – Episode 27 of GNAC Insider is now available as a free podcast via iTunes and features three Great Northwest Athletic Conference spring sports guests.

Simon Fraser golf head coach John Buchanan, SFU track and field and cross country head coach Brit Townsend, and Montana State Billings baseball player Luke Reinschmidt each joined host Kevin Young live on the latest episode.

Buchanan’s men’s team recently earned GNAC Team of the Week honors, after placing second at the Cal Baptist Invitational last week. It was the Clan’s second-straight second-place finish in a tournament, and Buchanan previewed his team’s upcoming competition at the Cal State Stanislaus Invitational this weekend.

Townsend, in her 14th year in charge of the track and field and cross country programs, is getting ready to bring her team to the San Francisco State Invitational this weekend. She discussed facing GNAC competition at this week’s meet and gave her perspective on how competition is stacking up with the conference meet one month away.

Reinschmidt became the fourth baseball player in GNAC history to hit for the cycle last week, completing the feat in a 16-7 win over Northwest Nazarene on Friday. The sophomore centerfielder earned Red Lion Player of the Week accolades for the accomplishment.
