PORTLAND, Ore. – The latest episode of GNAC Insider is now available as a downloadable podcast via iTunes, and for achived listening via the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Stretch Internet portal.

Eric Sawyer, the president and CEO of the Spokane Sports Commission and Matt English, the director of athletics at Concordia University in Portland, each joined host Kevin Young live on Episode 12.

With the NCAA Division II men’s and women’s cross country national championships set for this Saturday in Spokane, Wash., preparations are underway at the site of the meet, Plantes Ferry Sports Complex. The GNAC is hosting the meet in conjunction with the Spokane Sports Commission, and Sawyer discussed the operations of the company and the extent of its global outreach.

English, who is in the midst of leading his university’s transition process from the NAIA to the NCAA, talked about the impact joining the GNAC will have on his institution and many of the challenges and requirements associated with making the jump. Concordia has accepted an offer extended by the GNAC and will be admitted to join the conference beginning in the 2015-16 school year pending NCAA approval in the summer of 2014.

GNAC Insider airs live every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Pacific time and is hosted by Kevin Young of Soundbrook Audio. All episodes become available as downloadable podcasts via iTunes shortly after the completion of the live broadcast.
