PORTLAND, Ore. - A total of 82 student-athletes – 53 women and 29 men - have been selected to the 2013 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Soccer Academic all-conference team.

Heading up the women’s academic team is Shayla Page of Seattle Pacific.  The sophomore communications major from Redmond, Wash., has a perfect 4.00 GPA.  Hadli Farrand of Central Washington has the second highest GPA with a 3.98 GPA.

Central Washington and Saint Martin’s led the way placing nine players each on the women’s team.  Seattle Pacific had eight and Western Washington had seven all-academic selections on the women’s team.

Kyle Roesler of the University of Mary has the top GPA (3.95) on the men’s academic team for the second year in a row.  He is a senior business administration major from Fargo, N.D. 

Seattle Pacific had the most academic selections on the men’s team with eight.  Western Washington and University of Mary each placed five on the men’s academic team.

Twelve student-athletes were named to the soccer academic team for the third time, including six women and six men.   An additional 30 student-athletes, 24 women and six men - earned academic all-star honors for the second time. 

To be eligible for the GNAC academic team, student-athletes must be a letter winner, have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university.
