WACO, Texas – After anchoring a solid offensive line presence for Western Oregon in 2021, senior offensive lineman Jakob Pruitt was named by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) to its Division II All-America Second Team.

Pruitt split time in nine games for the Wolves this season at tackle and center and was named to the AFCA team at center. He was the Wolves’ full-time starting center in 2019. He helped anchor a line that allowed Western Oregon to average 326.3 yards of total offense per game and 199.4 passing yards per game while allowing just 21 sacks.

Selected First Team All-GNAC in November, Pruitt was named Second Team All-GNAC in 2018 and 2019. He was also named to the College Sports Information Directors of America’s (CoSIDA) Super Region 4 Academic All-District Team.

Pruitt was the only GNAC player to be named to the All-America Team by the coaches’ organization.

"Jakob has been a model of consistency throughout his time at Western Oregon. Each year he has played a big role in the success of this team and his ability to play effectively anywhere along the line has been impressive," head coach Arne Ferguson said. "Jakob has been a leader on this team and always puts the work in to improve each season. This award is very deserving for him and we're proud of the career he put together here at WOU."
