PORTLAND, Ore. – Thanks to an undefeated run through the conference schedule, an 8-2 regular-season record and the team’s first Division II playoff berth since 2017, Central Washington dominated the selections to the 2021 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Football All-Conference Team.

The Wildcats received 21 first-team selections and swept the seven special awards. Freshman quarterback Quincy Glasper was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Senior linebacker Donte Hamilton was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year and Chris Fisk was named by his peers as the Coach of the Year.

Junior Scottland Vise earned Offensive Lineman of the Year honors while senior Zach Stecklein was named the Defensive Lineman of the Year. Wide receiver Darius Morrison was honored as the Freshman of the Year and junior running back Rashaad Boddie received the Newcomer of the Year award.

After missing the first two games of the season due to injury, Glasper proved incredibly dynamic for the Wildcats at quarterback. He finished the regular season averaging 213.3 passing yards and 251.7 yards of total offense per game in six games. A winner in all six games he has started, Glasper has thrown for 200 or more yards three times, topped by his 452 yards and five touchdowns at Western New Mexico on November 6.

Glasper has captained a CWU offense that enters the playoffs ranked fourth in Division II in scoring offense (44.3 points per game) and 19th in red zone offense (.878).

Hamilton finished the regular season ranked fifth in the GNAC with 71 total tackles and led the conference with 11 passes defended and six interceptions. He also ranks second with 14 tackles for loss and third with 5.5 sacks. Hamilton is 25th in Division II with 1.4 tackles for loss per game.

Hamilton was named the GNAC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season, capped by his 10 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions in the Wildcats’ 30-20 upset of then-No. 11 Midwestern State on October 2.

In his third season as Central Washington head coach and his sixth overall season on the staff, Fisk has compiled a 15-7 record. His Wildcats are ranked in the top 30 of Division II in 17 different team statistical categories. In addition to leading the conference in scoring, CWU leads the GNAC in total offense (419.7 yards per game), rushing offense (184.1 yards per game) and passing offense (235.6 yards per game).

Defensively, Fisk’s team leads the conference in total defense (308 yards allowed per game) and rushing defense (120.4 yards allowed per game). The Wildcats currently lead Division II in turnover margin (1.78) and are 10th in both turnovers gained (26) and turnovers lost (10).

Vise is the lynchpin in a dynamic Central Washington offensive line that has allowed just one sack per game, which ranks 16th in Division II. The protection has allowed the Wildcats to amass 419 yards of total offense per game, which ranks 38th nationally.

Stecklein played a key role in the CWU defense that has held teams a total of 334.7 yards per game. He shares the conference lead with 8.5 sacks, is third in the GNAC with 13 tackles for loss and finished with 41 total tackles. Stecklein ranks 29th in Division II with 0.83 sacks per game. He finished with a season-high seven tackles against Angelo State on September 25 and had four tackles for loss and three sacks at Western Oregon on October 9.

Morrison earned Freshman of the Year honors after leading the conference with 58.8 receiving yards per game and eight touchdowns. Morrison played in all 10 games and earned GNAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his 102 yards and two touchdowns against Western Oregon on October 23. Morrison has three 100-plus yard receiving performances, led by his 122 yards against Simon Fraser on November 13.

Boddie, a transfer from Colorado State, finished second in the conference with 74.2 rushing yards per game and seven touchdowns. He amassed a season-high of 279 yards on 25 carries with three touchdowns at Simon Fraser on September 18.

Joining Glasper, Vise and Morrison on the first team for Central Washington are freshman running back Tyler Flanagan, senior wide receivers Tony Archie and JoJo Hillel, senior tight end Samuel Sanchez, senior offensive lineman Raymond Schalk, junior kicker Patrick Hegarty, senior kick returner Michael Chisley and freshman long snapper Colson Brunner.

Hamilton and Stecklein are joined on the first-team defense by senior defensive linemen Fred Feleti and Sean Gordon, junior linebacker Daeon Hudson, sophomore defensive backs Patrick Rogers and Jahleel Breland, Chisley at defensive back, sophomore punt returner Tai-John Mizutani and freshman defensive back Dominic Wieberg.

Western Oregon received 10 first-team selections. On the offense, the Wolves are represented by junior running back Omari Land, junior wide receiver Thomas Wright, senior offensive lineman Jakob Pruitt, sophomore offensive lineman Fernando Salazar and freshman offensive lineman Josh McKey.

Representing WOU on defense are junior defensive lineman Mack Little, junior linebacker Jaylin Parnell, senior linebacker Curtis Anderson, junior defensive back Joey Sinclair and senior punter Andrew Gross.
