WOU/NNU Baseball Series Canceled; Nighthawks Win Crown

PORTLAND, Ore. – Due to health and safety protocols within the Western Oregon program related to COVID-19, the four-game baseball series between Western Oregon and Northwest Nazarene, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, has been canceled.

Under the provisions of the conference’s policy for makeup games in baseball, the games will not be made up.

With the cancellation of the series, Northwest Nazarene is the GNAC baseball regular-season champion. The Nighthawks finished the GNAC season with a 21-3 record and will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming GNAC Baseball Championships, which take place May 20 and 21 in Nampa, Idaho.

Western Oregon will be the tournament’s No. 2 seed, finishing with a 19-5 conference record. Central Washington, which enters this week’s series with Saint Martin’s with an 11-9 record, will be the No. 3 seed.
