PORTLAND, Ore. - Montana State Billings second baseman Brody Miller (5-9, 175, So., Missoula, MT – Sentinel) has been selected the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Player of the Week.

Miller had 13 hits in 20 at bats, scored eight runs and drove in 10 as the Yellowjackets split a four-game series with first-place Western Oregon last week.

Miller, who struck out just once, hit two home runs.  He also handled 24 chances at second base (11 putouts, 13 assists) without committing an error.

MSUB's two victories, combined with three losses by Northwest Nazarene in its four-game series Monday and Tuesday, enabled the Yellowjackets to move one game ahead of the Crusaders for third place in the GNAC standings.  The top three teams will advance to the playoffs in May.

Both teams have 12 games remaining on their conference schedules.

Northwest Nazarene travels to Monmouth this weekend for a four-game series with Western Oregon beginning Friday, while MSUB hosts Saint Martin's for four games beginning Saturday.

Central Washington, which moved into a tie for first place with Western Oregon Tuesday with a 6-4, 8-5 doubleheader sweep of NNU, hosts Oregon Tech in a non-conference four-game series beginning Saturday.
