THIS WEEK'S GNAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSE
Karli White, Western Washington
F/M • 5-5 • Senior • North Bend, Wash.

White had a goal and an assist to lead Western Washington to a 2-0 record to start the season. She scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute in the 1-0 season-opener win at Metro State and was credited with the assist on the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute in the 1-0 win over St. Edward’s.

DEFENSE
Annaliese Laurila, Western Washington
D • 6-0 • Senior • Portland, Ore.

Laurila was a key part of the Viking defense that did not allow a goal in a pair of 1-0 victories to open the season. She played in all 180 minutes, and was a center back that helped limit Metro State and St. Edward’s to just four shots on goal.

AROUND THE GNAC
CENTRAL WASHINGTON
• Central Washington finished the week 1-1-0 with a 2-1 win over Fresno Pacific on Thursday and a 1-0 loss to Cal State San Marcos on Saturday.

• Fresno Pacific scored in the third minute of the match, but the Wildcats controlled the rest of the game with goals scored by Maci Parke and Sydney Lowe in the 58th and 84th minutes, respectively. Lowe finished the game with three shots on goal.

• Goalkeeper Emily Thomson recorded two saves in the game against Fresno Pacific. The Wildcat defense allowed just three shots on goal.

• Thomson and Megan Fox combined for five goals against Cal State San Marcos in the 1-0 loss.

• The Wildcats will travel to Nampa, Idaho, to play Hawaii Hilo at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

CONCORDIA
• Concordia dropped both of its games last week and started the season 0-2-0. The first loss was a heart-breaker, 3-2, to Sonoma State in 2 OT on Thursday. The second loss was a 2-0 defeat at Stanislaus State on Saturday.

• Aaliyah Valladares and Chloe Smith both recorded goals for the Cavaliers in the loss to Sonoma State.

• Hailey Asato tallied five saves on eight shots on goal from the Seawolves. Asato also recorded five saves in just 45 minutes played in the loss to Stanislaus State.

• The Cavaliers will stay at home this week to host Humboldt State and Biola. The Cavs will take on the Jacks at 7:30 pm on Thursday and the Eagles at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

MONTANA STATE BILLINGS
• Montana State Billings played in two close games last week and open the season 0-1-1.

• The Yellowjackets dropped the season opener, 2-1, to Westminster (Utah) in Salt Lake City, Utah, then lost a 3-1 lead to tie with Cal State Dominguez Hills, 3-3.

• Erinn Harder recorded two saves on four shots on goal in the game against Westminster. The game was tied, 1-1, until Westminster scored in the 63rd minute.

• The Yellowjackets got off to a hot start against Cal State Dominguez Hills with three unanswered goals by Alexa Iacolucci, Lindsey Meyer and Haley German.

• Goalkeeper Abby Hamilton recorded six saves on nine shots on goal in 110 minutes.

• The Yellowjackets are scheduled to host Caroll (Mont.) at 4 p.m. on Thursday and Mary at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE
• Northwest Nazarene started the season 1-1-0 with a loss to Cal State Monterey Bay and a win over Holy Names in Seaside, California.

• Brooke Felzien had three shots and two shots on goal in the loss to Cal State Monterey Bay, but was unable to score.

• Alexis Montoya recorded two saves against Cal State Monterey Bay. The Nighthawk defense allowed just three shots on goal.

• In the win over Holy Names, McKenzie Buell opened the scoring for the Nighthawks in the 38th minute. Felzien also scored a goal in the 85th minute. Felzien was credited with the assist on Buell’s goal as well.

• Northwest Nazarene outshot Holy Names 18-5. Eight of those shots were on goal. Montoya recorded three saves on three shots on goal in the win.
• The Nighthawks will host Hawaii Hilo at 5 p.m. on Thursday. They will then host Cal State East Bay at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

SAINT MARTIN'S
• Saint Martin’s is 0-2-1 to start the season. The Saints tied Holy Names in 2 OT then dropped two games to Academy of Art (3-1) and Dominican (1-0, OT).

• In what was statistically an even match against Holy Names, Jessica Moskowitz recorded a goal on five shots, two of which were on goal.

• The Saints’ goalkeepers recorded five saves on six shots on goal to stay alive in the 1-1 tie.

• The Saints defense held a strong line against Dominican in regulation, but the Penguins eventually found the back of the goal in OT.

• Ali Campigotto played the entire 94 minutes and recorded four saves on five shots on goal.

• The Saints lead the GNAC with four saves per game.

• The Saints will travel to Portland to meet with Humboldt State at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

SEATTLE PACIFIC
• Seattle Pacific enters Week 2 with a record of 0-2-0.

• The Falcons lost to Rogers State, 1-0, on Thursday then dropped a 2-1 game at Dixie State in OT.

• The Falcons had 16 shots and nine shots on goal, but couldn’t manage to score in the loss to Rogers State. The Rogers State goalkeeperwas credited with nine saves.

• Riley Travis recorded three saves on five shots on goal by Dixie State, but the Trailblazers found a way to score at the beginning of OT.

• Up next for Seattle Pacific is a home game against Biola at 4 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons will then host Sonoma State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

SIMON FRASER
• Simon Fraser has yet to play a game in 2019. The Clan is the only GNAC team who has not opened its regular season.

• The Clan will open its season at Cal State San Marcos at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

WESTERN OREGON
• Western Oregon opened its season in style, registering six goals to top Western Colorado, 6-0. The Wolves then lost to Adams State and finished the week with a record of 1-1-0.

• The Wolves scored an astounding four goals in just six minutes against Western Colorado to make a statement in 2019.

• Four different Wolves scored goals in the win over Western Colorado. Alyssa Tomasini scored the first two goals for the Wolves. Kaili Brundage also scored two goals in the win. Isabelle Creighton and Selene Konyn were the other two Wolves with goals.

• The Western Oregon defense allowed just one shot by Western Colorado the entire game. The Wolves’ defense also held Adams State to just five shots and two shots on goal, but still took the 1-0 loss to the Grizzlies.

• Tomasini leads all GNAC players with two goals and five points to open her season. The Wolves were the top-scoring offense in Week 1.

• Western Oregon is scheduled to travel to Seaside, California to play Cal State Monterey Bay at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

WESTERN WASHINGTON
• Western Washington swept the Players of the Week voting in Week 1 after a 2-0 start to its 2019 campaign. The defending GNAC regular season champion Vikings started their season with a bang, scoring late-game goals in both of their games last week.

• Karli White scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute in the Vikings’ 1-0 win over Metro State in the season opener. She was also credited with the assist on the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute in the 1-0 over St. Edward’s. She was the Offensive Player of the Week.

• Grace Eversaul scored the game-winning goal against St. Edward’s in the 83rd minute.

• Annaliese Laurila earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after being a key part of a Viking defense that did not allow a goal in a pair of wins to open the season. She played in all 180 minutes and helped to limit Metro State and St. Edward’s to just four shots on goal.

• The Vikings will have their home opener at 7 p.m. on Thursday against Sonoma State.
