PORTLAND, Ore. – As with the men, the GNAC women’s golf fall season came to an end on Wednesday as Concordia, Saint Martin’s and Western Washington competed at the Dennis Rose Invitational at the Waikoloa Beach Course in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

Concordia concluded its fall season with a win, finishing in first place with a score of 886 over three rounds, four strokes ahead of second-place Sonoma State and 15 strokes ahead of third-place Western Washington.

Senior Cammie Decker’s continued success led the Cavs once again. Decker finished tied for first place with a score of 2-under-par 214 and shared medalist honors with Cal State Monterey Bay’s Isabel Carpenter. In doing so, she broke a GNAC record for a single-round with a 2-under-par 68 in the second round.

Jae Eun Park also helped to lead the Cavs to the team victory, finishing in fifth with a score of 4-over-par 220 to close out her freshman fall campaign.

Western Washington freshman Elise Sumner joined Decker and Park in the top-10, pacing the Vikings in sixth place with a score of 6-over-par 222.

The tournament marked the conclusion of the women’s golf fall season. All six teams will be back on the links in February for the beginning of the spring season.

AROUND THE GNAC
CONCORDIA
• Concordia closed out its fall season with a bang as the Cavaliers won the Dennis Rose Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii, with a final score of 886, four strokes ahead of second-place Sonoma State. It was the Cavs’ first and only team victory of the fall.

• Senior Cammie Decker led the Cavs to victory, finishing tied for first place with a score of 2-under-par 214 and sharing medalist honors with Cal State Monterey Bay’s Isabel Carpenter. Decker broke a Concordia and GNAC single-round score record with a 68 in the second round of the tournament. The win was Decker’s second individual victory of the fall as she also earned medalist honors at the Concordia Invitational on Oct. 7-8.

• Freshman Jae Eun Park helped Decker anchor the Cavs in their victory as she finished in fifth place with a score of 4-over-par 220.

• Junior Katie Bogert contributed with a top-20 finish, finishing tied for 16th with a score of 228. Junior Kendall Freeman rounded out the Cavs’ scoring players as she tied for 23rd place with a score of 230.

MONTANA STATE BILLINGS
• Montana State Billings concluded its fall season with a loss to Rocky Mountain on Oct. 19-20 at the Leslie Spalding Cup at the Lake Hills Golf Course in Billings.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE
• Northwest Nazarene concluded its fall season with a win in a dual match against College Of Idaho on Oct. 12 at the Timberstone Golf Course in Caldwell, Idaho.

SAINT MARTIN’S
• Saint Martin’s finished in ninth at the Dennis Rose Invitational with a score of 947 to close out its fall campaign.

• Sophomore Michaela Morris led the Saints and placed in the top-20, finishing tied for 19th with a score of 229.

• Sophomore Katherine Swor finished tied for 39th with a score of 242 and Madie Prigge placed 42nd with a score of 245.

SIMON FRASER
• Simon Fraser concluded its fall season on Oct. 21-22, finishing tied for third place at the Division II West Region Preview at the Legends Course in Carlsbad, California. Senior Emily Leung picked up the individual victory and earned medalist honors with a score of 2-under-par 142 over two rounds.

WESTERN WASHINGTON
• Western Washington closed out its fall season at the Dennis Rose Invitational, finishing in third place with a score of 901 over three rounds.

• Freshman Elise Sumner led the Vikings with a sixth-place finish with a score of 6-over-par 222 in what was her best performance of the fall.

• Senior Lacy Overstreet and freshman Claire Moon also put together top-15 finishes. Overstreet tied for 12th with a score of 10-over-par 226 while Moon placed 15th with a score of 227.
