PORTLAND, Ore. – GNAC Insider returned Tuesday at 7 p.m. (PT) as the GNAC Basketball Championships approach. Among the episode’s guests were two student-athletes and a head coach representing three of the teams in the tournaments.

In his second year as the head coach of the Alaska men’s basketball team, Greg Sparling joined the show. The Nanooks return to the GNAC Championships for the first time since 2016. They finished the regular season with a 10-10 conference mark (11-17 overall) and clinched the No. 6 seed on a tiebreaker. This is Sparling’s eighth trip to the GNAC Championships as he also led Central Washington to seven tournament berths.

Helping to lead his team to a regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the GNAC Men’s Basketball Championships, Seattle Pacific junior guard Harry Cavell joined the show. Cavell is averaging 13.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game and ranks sixth in the GNAC with a .844 free-throw percentage. The Falcons enter the tournament with a 22-6 overall record and claimed the regular-season title with an 18-2 conference mark.

The reigning GNAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, Western Washington junior guard Emma Duff also joined the show. Duff led the Vikings to a pair of wins last week with 39 points, 24 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. She is averaging 11.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game as the Vikings enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed after finishing the regular season with a 14-6 conference mark (20-8 overall).
