PORTLAND, Ore. – After earning First Team All-GNAC honors and helping lead Western Oregon to a share of the GNAC regular-season championship, Wolves senior outfielder Jacob Maiben has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division II Academic All-District 8 Baseball Team.

Maiben, who has a 3.61 GPA as a criminal justice major, is fourth in the GNAC with a .335 batting average. He is tied for sixth in the conference with 54 hits, is 10th with 35 runs scored and leads the conference with 19 stolen bases in 21 attempts. Maiben also owns a .416 slugging percentage and .453 on-base percentage with 19 RBI.

With his selection, Maiben is now eligible for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Baseball Team, which will be announced on June 7.

The Academic All-District teams are nominated and voted upon by members of CoSIDA and recognize student-athletes of sophomore standing or higher who are starters or significant reserves for their teams with a minimum GPA of 3.30 or better. Members of the Academic All-District 8 team are selected from players from the GNAC, CCAA and PacWest Conference.
