PORTLAND, Ore. – Four of the six GNAC teams ended its fall season Tuesday afternoon at the Western Washington Invitational.

Concordia was the highest GNAC finisher in the tournament, tying for fourth. Last weekend, Simon Fraser was led by a pair of top-three finishes by Emily Leung and Jaya Rampuri to lead the Clan to a second-place finish at the Saint Martin’s Invitational.

The Vikings were the sole GNAC team to participate in last week’s Dixie State Fall Invitational, placing sixth in the 10-team field. Western Washington junior Stephanie Sewell took home the GNAC Women’s Golf Player of the Week award after leading the Vikings with a seventh-place finish.

• Sophomore Cammie Decker shot a two-round score of 162 to lead Concordia to a third-place finish at the Saint Martin's Invitational last weekend, finishing two strokes out of fifth and three out of third place.
• Finishing seven strokes behind Decker was Staesha Flock, who ended in a three-way tie for 12th place.
• Concordia finished its fall season at the Western Washington Invitational as the highest GNAC placer on Tuesday, tying for fourth. 
Shantel Antonio finished tied for fifth after shooting a 3-over par 149. Caitlyn Villatora finished in a three-way tie for 11th place after carding a 7-over par 153. 

MONTANA STATE BILLINGS
LAST WEEK: Oct. 6-7 at Saint Martin’s Invitational, 6th of 8, 707 (348-359). Oct. 9-10 at Western Washington Invitational, 10th of 13, 670 (334-336).

• The Yellowjackets finished in eighth place at the Saint Martin’s Invitational last week.
• For the second straight day in the tournament, junior Shealyn Hafer led the 'Jackets with a second-round score of 84. Hafer finished the tournament in 12th place with a two-round total of 169 (85-84).
• Senior Bailee Dexter improved the most between rounds, shaving off five strokes for an 86 on Saturday. Dexter wound up with a two-round score of 177 and took 29th place.
• The Yellowjackets shot a team score of 334 in the first round of the Western Washington Invitational to finish in 10th place with a two-round total of 670 (334-336).
• Hafer was MSUB's top performer at the event, finishing in a tie for 32nd with a two-round total of 162.
• Montana State Billings finishes the fall season against Rocky Mountain College in the Leslie Sparling Cup this weekend.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE
LAST WEEK: Oct. 6-7 at Saint Martin’s Invitational, 7th of 10, 711 (346-365). Oct. 9-10 at Western Washington Invitational, 12th of 13, 682 (344-338).
THIS WEEK: Oct. 30-31 at Cal State San Marcos Fall Classic, San Marcos, Calif.
• Northwest Nazarene finished seventh last weekend at the Saint Martin's Invitational.
• Junior Stephanie Miller finished tied for 17th with rounds of 83 and 89 while freshman Trinity McCarthy ended the tournament in 25th.
• On Tuesday, NNU moved up one place on the leaderboard to finish 12th at the Western Washington Invitational with a team score of 682 (344-338).
• The Crusaders finished 10 strokes behind Saint Martin's and 12 strokes shy of Montana State Billings. Ragan McGilvery was the highest Crusader finisher, carding a 169 to tie for 45th.
• Northwest Nazarene ends its fall season at the Cal State San Marcos Fall Classic at the end of the month.

SAINT MARTIN’S
LAST WEEK: Oct. 6-7 at Saint Martin’s Invitational, 4th of 10, 674 (335-339). Oct. 9-10 at Western Washington Invitational, 11th of 13, 672 (333-339).
THIS WEEK: Idle
• In what proved to be a more difficult round for most of the field, Celia Beyke shot the lowest second-round score (78) at the Saint Martin’s Invitational last weekend, to help the Saints to a fourth-place finish.
• Beyke dropped three strokes off her first-round score to match the lowest score of the day and finish tied for third overall at 159 strokes. Hannah Reynolds added another top-ten finish after shooting 167. Reynolds sunk four birdies over the two days, tied for second most. 
• TiAnna Ford shaved five strokes off her first-round score to finish with a team-leading 83 strokes on the second day of the Western Washington Invitational on Tuesday.
• Leading the Saints was Beyke, who concluded the rounds at 78 and 81. Beyke tied for the second-lowest score on par-5 holes, helping SMU to a 11th-place finish.
• Reynolds tied for 45th after ending as the Saints’ second-lowest placer with a 169.

SIMON FRASER
LAST WEEK: Oct. 6-7 at Saint Martin’s Invitational, 2nd of 10, 649 (325-324). Oct. 9-10 at Western Washington Invitational, 7th of 13, 644 (319-325).
THIS WEEK: Idle
• Leung and Rampuri finished second and third, respectively, to lead the Simon Fraser to a second-place finish at the Saint Martin’s Invitational on Saturday.
• For the second straight day, Leung led the Clan in strokes, carding a 6-over par 78. Leung finished the tournament in second place with a two-round total of 155 (77-78) while Rampuri was tied for third after rounds of 81 and 78 for a 159 total.
• On Tuesday, Simon Fraser closed out its fall slate after finishing in seventh place at the Western Washington Invitational.
• Leung, who had five birdies in the tournament, paced the Clan after finishing tied for 14th with rounds of 76 and 78. Junior Belinda Lin, who started Tuesday tied for 35th after shooting 9-over par 82 on Monday, shot a 79 to move into a tie for 28th. Senior Michelle Waters finished one stroke back (79-83) in a tie for 32nd.

WESTERN WASHINGTON
LAST WEEK: Oct. 2-3 at Dixie State Fall Invitational, 6th of 10, 640 (322-318). Oct. 9-10 at Western Washington Invitational, 6th of 13, 641 (328-313).
THIS WEEK: Idle
• Early last week, the Vikings were the only GNAC team in action, as they traveled to Hurricane, Utah, to participate in the Dixie State Fall Invitational. Sewell was the highest placer for the Vikings, finishing tied for 6th at 9-over par 153 through two rounds. Her finish earned her the GNAC Women’s Golf Player of the Week award.
• Western Washington closed out the fall finishing in sixth place at the Western Washington Invitational.
• The Vikings had a 15-stroke improvement from Monday's first round, scoring a 21-over par 313 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 57-over-par (641). Western Washington began the day in eighth place.
• Senior Jenn Paul recorded her best performance of the season, carding a 1-over par 74 in the second round to tie for 16th place. Paul tallied four birdies and nine pars in her final round to move up from 35th place after round one.


GNAC Women’s Golfer of the Week (Oct. 9, 2017)
Stephanie Sewell (Western Washington, Jr., Kent, Wash. – Kentridge): Sewell was one of three golfers that tied for seventh at the Dixie State Fall Invitational, carding a two-round score of 9-over-par 153. She shot a low round of 75 on the second day of play.
