PORTLAND, Ore. – Honoring its stellar performance in the classroom, Montana State Billings has been named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Honor Roll for NCAA Division II.

The Yellowjackets tied for seventh with William Jewell in the rankings of the top 25 team GPAs with a 3.77. Montana State Billings was one of just two Division II West Region teams to make the honor roll.

The program recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women’s basketball teams that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all of the student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. Coaches of recognized teams must be WBCA members.

Four other GNAC programs received special mention from the WBCA: Alaska, Northwest Nazarene, Seattle Pacific and Western Washington.

Montana State Billings led all GNAC women’s basketball teams in the GNAC All-Sports Standings and saw eight of its players named to the GNAC Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team. Nine of the conference’s 10 women’s basketball programs finished with a team GPA of 3.0 or greater.
