PORTLAND, Ore. – Four GNAC women’s basketball teams were back on the hardwood last week, including a pair of matchups with two conference teams in Seattle.

Seattle Pacific and Northwest Nazarene split their two-game series on Friday and Saturday while Saint Martin’s handled Northwest (Wash.) in both of their meetings. Montana State Billings played just one game last week, securing a 12-point victory over Rocky Mountain College on Wednesday.

Saint Martin’s junior forward Claire Dingus has been on a tear this season as she earned the GNAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award for the third time this week. Dingus finished with back-to-back double-doubles against Northwest (Wash.), averaging 22.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. On Friday, she scored 20 points and added 10 rebounds in a 94-55 victory, making 8 of 11 from the field and 2 of 3 from three-point range. On Saturday, she finished with 25 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block as the Saints ran away with an 84-59 win.

No GNAC teams were included in the first NCAA Division II West Region Rankings, which were released on Feb. 17. The second set of regional rankings will be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Beginning this year, the first two regional rankings provided by the regional advisory committee do not list teams by their rank but rather as an alphabetical list of teams “under consideration” for postseason selection. The third week will feature an actual ranking of eight teams. The NCAA will announce the six teams selected for the postseason from each region on Sunday, March 7.

Due to the reduced number of teams competing in the West Region due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the region is comprised for the 2020-21 season of teams from the GNAC, PacWest Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Listed among the teams under consideration for the West Region in the first ranking include Black Hills State, Colorado Mines, Colorado Mesa, Concordia (Calif.), Hawaii Pacific, Point Loma, Western Colorado and Westminster (Utah).
