LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Western Oregon. junior outfielder Ayanna Arceneaux has been selected as one of just 50 student-athletes from across the country to be named to the "Watch List" for the 2020 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year award.

Behind the collaboration of the NFCA and its NCAA Division II Head Coaches Committee, along with the generosity of Schutt Sports, the award was created in 2015 to honor the outstanding athletic achievement among NCAA Division II softball student-athletes.

The top-25 finalists for the award will be announced on April 23. The top-10 finalists will be announced on May 12 and the winners will be recognized on May 28 following the conclusion of the 2020 season.

Arceneaux ended last season being named an NFCA All-American becoming the first from WOU to garner the honor since 2009. She was also tabbed a D2CCA All-American and a First Team All-GNAC recipient.

So far this season, the outfielder has played in all seven games posting a .440 batting average with 11 hits, two doubles, a triple, two RBI, three walks, three stolen bases and six runs scored. Arceneaux already has four multi-hit games this season and has a hit in every game. She tallied a triple in the win over Sonoma State and has scored a run in five games this season, scoring a pair of times in the win over Colorado Christian.
