Northwest Nazarene Forfeits Women's Soccer Match To SFU

Thursday, September 30, 2021

PORTLAND, Ore. – Due to a combination of factors that has significantly reduced its roster, Northwest Nazarene will forfeit its scheduled Thursday, Sept. 30 women’s soccer match in Burnaby, British Columbia to Simon Fraser.

Northwest Nazarene is unable to compete due to a combination of Canadian government regulations regarding the vaccination status of individuals entering the country, injuries within the program and U.S. passport issues.

Efforts to re-schedule the match or to move the match to another site were unsuccessful.

The forfeit win for Simon Fraser and the forfeit loss for Northwest Nazarene will count in the conference standings but will not affect either team’s overall win/loss record. The NCAA does not recognize forfeits outside of those declared on the field of play by officials or by NCAA executive action. The forfeit will not be factored into regional rankings.
