PORTLAND, Ore. – Helping their respective teams to the GNAC Championships this season, Concordia senior defender Ana Delgadillo and Seattle Pacific midfielder Simone Herzberg represent the Great Northwest Athletic Conference on the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Women’s Soccer Team.

Delgadillo, the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year, helped Concordia to its first GNAC regular-season title in school history after knocking off defending Division II national champion Western Washington on the final day of the regular season. Boasting a 3.92 as a psychology major, Delgadillo has recorded two goals and two assists in 16 appearances this season. The Cavs appear in their first-ever NCAA Division II West Regional match this Friday at 2 p.m., against Chico State.

Earning a 3.97 GPA as a physiology major, Herzberg provided great minutes off the bench for the Falcons. Appearing in all but one game this season, Herzberg tallied four goals, one of which was the game-winner in a 4-1 affair against Saint Martin’s. She helped the Falcons to their sixth-straight GNAC Championships appearance, eventually falling to Western Washington 2-0 in the opening round.

The GNAC competed with the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and Pacific West conferences for selections to the NCAA Division II District 8 All-Academic First Team.

Nominated and voted upon by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the Academic All-District program recognizes student-athletes of sophomore standing or better who are starters or significant reserves for their team with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better. Academic All-District selections will be forwarded for Academic All-American Team consideration, released on Dec. 6.
