PORTLAND, Ore. – With the fall season nearing its conclusion, all six GNAC teams travel to Portland, Ore., next Monday to participate in the Concordia Invitational at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club.

Simon Fraser’s Scott Kerr took home the GNAC Men’s Golf Player of the Week award after edging out teammate Chris Crisologo by two strokes at the Western Washington Invitational on Sept. 26, leading the Clan to its first team victory of the season.

Montana State Billings was the only GNAC school to compete earlier this week, finishing in 14th at the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate with a team score of 899 (300-293-306). Caleb Stetzner finished tied for 14th, carding a 3-under par 213.

• On Sept. 26, Braeden Campbell finished in a tie for 37th place with a three-round score of 7-over par 223 to lead Concordia to a 15th-place finish at the Western Washington Invitational.
• Finishing two strokes behind Campbell was Jaxson Daskalos, who shot a 225 (73-78-74), tying him for 45th place.
• The Cavaliers host its annual Concordia Invitational on Monday at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club.  

MONTANA STATE BILLINGS
LAST WEEK: Sept. 25-26 at Western Washington Invitational, 14th of 16, 913 (308-299-306). Oct. 2-3 at Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate, 17th of 20, 899 (300-293-306).
THIS WEEK: Oct. 9-10 at Concordia Invitational, Portland, Ore.
• At the Western Washington Invitational, the Yellowjackets finished the tournament in 14th place with a three-round score of 913 (308-299-306).
• MSUB’s top finisher at the event was freshman Caleb Trost, who ended the tournament in a tie for 58th place with a three-round score of 228 (79-72-77). Trost wrapped up the tournament with one birdie on Tuesday, leveling him to an even-par 35 on the back-nine.
• Stetzner figured as the highest placer for the ‘Jackets at the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate, finishing tied for 14th with a 3-under par 213. Trost carded a 6-over par 222 during the three-round tournament, ending tied for 40th.
• The Yellowjackets, along with the five other GNAC teams, play round one and two on Monday at the Concordia Invitational in Portland, Ore.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE

LAST WEEK: Sept. 25-26 at Western Washington Invitational, T15 of 16, 915 (312-307-196).
THIS WEEK: Oct. 9-10 at Concordia Invitational, Portland, Ore.
• Northwest Nazarene posted a final round 296 to finish tied for 15th at the Western Washington Invitational on Tuesday.
• After rounds of 312 and 307 on Monday, the Crusaders 8-over par 296 score on Tuesday gave them a total score of 915, ending the tournament tied with Concordia. Justin Higgins led the Crusaders with a 2-under par 70 in the final round.
Andrew Cortez and Higgins led the Crusaders’ starting five, each finishing with a tournament total of 227 and tying for 53rd.  Cortez had rounds of 78-74-75, while Higgins shot 79-78-70.
• The Crusaders head down to the Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Portland, Ore., to play in the Concordia Invitational on Monday.

SAINT MARTIN’S
LAST WEEK: Sept. 25-26 at Western Washington Invitational, T9th of 16, 877 (297-285-295).
THIS WEEK: Oct. 9-10 at Concordia Invitational, Portland, Ore.
• Consistent play from Trevor Frisby and Tyler Fitchett gave the Saints their second top-10 finish of the year after wrapping up play at the Western Washington Invitational tied for 9th with a team score of 877 (297-285-295).
• Frisby led the Saints after the first round shooting a 1-under par 71, and led SMU at the end of the tournament with a total score of 216, placing him tied for 12th overall. Fitchett posted the lowest score of the third round for Saint Martin's at even-par 72 and finished tied for 16th on the overall leaderboard.
• Saint Martin’s head down to Portland, Ore., this week to play in the Concordia Invitational.

SIMON FRASER
LAST WEEK: Sept. 25-26 at Western Washington Invitational, 1st of 16, 856 (291-284-281).
THIS WEEK: Oct. 9-10 at Concordia Invitational, Portland, Ore.
• At the Western Washington Invitational, Kerr fired a final round 6-under par 66 to edge teammate Crisologo for first place honors, helping Simon Fraser capture its first tournament victory of the season.
• Kerr won his first career tournament by two strokes over Crisologo with a three-round score of 10-under par 206. Kerr recorded rounds of 71, 69 and 66.
• Kerr’s three-round score at the Western Washington Invitational is the lowest by a GNAC player in the tournament since the conference added golf in 2007. His efforts garnered him the GNAC Men’s Golf Player of the Week award on Monday.
• Simon Fraser plays in its second-to-last tournament of the fall next Monday as they field a squad in the Concordia Invitational.

WESTERN WASHINGTON
LAST WEEK: Sept. 25-26 at Western Washington Invitational, T6th of 16, 871 (289-294-288).
THIS WEEK: Oct. 9-10 at Concordia Invitational, Portland, Ore.
• In their most recent tournament, the Vikings finished in a tie for 6th place at their home Western Washington Invitational.
• Despite participating as an individual, freshman Brody Bonfilio was the highest placing Viking, finishing at 3-under par 213 to claim 6th place. Bonfilio ended the two-day tournament with rounds of 72-70-71 in his collegiate debut.
• The Vikings play in the Concordia Invitational next Monday and finish the season at the Otter Fall Invitational in Seaside, Calif., on Oct. 16.

GNAC Men’s Golfer of the Week (Oct. 2, 2017)
Scott Kerr (Simon Fraser, Fr., Vancouver, B.C. – Kitsilano): Kerr was the medalist in his second-ever collegiate tournament, winning the Western Washington Invitational with a three-round score of 10-under-par 206. The score is the lowest by a GNAC player in the tournament since the conference added golf in 2007. He shot two rounds under 70, including a 6-under-par 66 in the final round.
