RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Two of the conference top sluggers in the conference’s easternmost team leads four selections for the GNAC on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Softball All-West Region Team.

Montana State Billings outfielder Heather Tracy, the GNAC’s Player of the Year, and Yellowjackets’ first baseman Cameron Cassinelli picked up first-team selections. Western Oregon second baseman Ryanne Huffman and Central Washington third baseman Savannah Egbert both earned second-team honors.

It was the second straight year that Tracy has been honored by the D2CCA. She earned second-team honors in 2017. Tracy, Huffman and Egbert were all named to the NFCA’s All-West Region Team last week. All four were First Team All-GNAC selections.

Nominated by and voted upon by the region’s sports information directors, Tracy and Cassinelli will move forward to the ballot for the D2CCA Division II All-America Team, which will be announced in June.

Tracy finished the regular season with a league-leading .488 batting average, ranking her seventh nationally. She finished fifth in Division II with 82 hits and also led the conference in slugging percentage (.769), on-base percentage (.511) and runs scored (49). Tracy also set MSUB career records in batting average (.426), games played (192) and hits (270). In the process, Tracy became a three-time First Team All-GNAC selection.

Cassinelli became the Yellowjackets’ all-time leader in career home runs and No. 2 on the GNAC all-time list with 40 home runs. She finished the season with a .352 batting average and 35 RBIs and finished tied for second in the conference with 10 home runs in 2018.

Huffman was the leader of the Western Oregon offense, finishing the season ranked fifth in the GNAC with a .397 batting average. Her five triples ranked her second in the GNAC to go along with a .517 slugging percentage. Huffman also stole 17 bases in 20 attempts.

Egbert helped lead Central Washington to a share of the GNAC regular-season championship, leading the team and ranking second in the GNAC with a .453 batting average. She led the conference with 33 stolen bases and finished the year ranked 33rd in Division II with 0.64 stolen bases per game.
