PORTLAND, Ore. – Western Oregon senior forward Tanner Omlid is adding two more awards to his impressive list to conclude his collegiate basketball career, earning selection as a Division II All-American by both the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

Omlid was one of 16 players selected to the NABC’s Division II All-American and was one of just two selected from West Region schools. The senior was selected to the D2CCA All-America Third Team and was the only West Region player to earn selection.

The two All-American selections are the latest in a long list of awards for Omlid. Earlier this month, he was named as both the GNAC and D2CCA West Region Player of the Year, earned D2CCA First Team All-West Region selection as well as a spot of the NCAA Division II West Regional All-Tournament Team.

Omlid led Western Oregon to a 31-2 overall record, the GNAC regular-season and tournament titles and an appearance in the NCAA Division II West Regional final. He averaged 13.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, ranked among the GNAC and NCAA Division II leaders in steals (2.7 per game) and also ranked third in the GNAC in blocks (1.8 per game) and ninth in assists (3.3 per game).

Omlid is just the second Western Oregon player to be named an All-American in the school’s GNAC era (2001 to present). He joins former teammate Andy Avgi, who was named to both the D2CCA and NABC All-American teams in 2016.
