PORTLAND, Ore. – With the NCAA Division II Elite Eight on the horizon, Bryan Miller, the executive director of the Sioux Falls Sports Authority and Montana State Billings women’s basketball coach Kevin Woodin joined the show to talk hoops while Central Washington head baseball coach Desi Storey talked about the Wildcats’ hot start to the season. The show was at 7 p.m., Pacific, and will be hosted by Rob Lowery.

The Sioux Falls Sports Authority, located in Sioux Falls, S.D., will host the 2018 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Elite Eight as the Sanford Pentagon. The authority is an independent sports commission that was formed in 2006 by community leaders to recruit major sporting events to the Sioux Falls area. It is run by a board of directors of 15 community members, an executive director and project director. This year will be the first time in Division II history that both the men’s and women’s national tournament will be held simultaneously at the same venue.

The historic run for the Yellowjackets’ women’s basketball program continues as Woodin leads MSUB to its second-ever NCAA Elite Eight appearance next week. After defeating Seattle Pacific for the GNAC championship in early March, Montana State Billings went on to defeat Alaska Anchorage 71-70 on Monday for the NCAA Division II West Regional championship. The Yellowjackets have averaged 74 points per game and have given up 68.5 points per contest in their six postseason games this season. They enter the Elite Eight as the No. 8 seed and will take on No. 1 seed Ashland (33-0) next Monday at 4 p.m. (Pacific).

In his 26th season as CWU’s head coach, Storey has had 11 winning seasons and six runner-up finishes in GNAC play, including a second-place finish in 2017. His 482 career wins makes him the winningest coach in Wildcats’ baseball history. The Wildcats currently sit atop the GNAC standings at 7-1 and have won nine of their last 10 games. They visit a Western Oregon team this weekend that has opened the conference schedule winning six of its first eight games.
