PORTLAND, Ore. – Western Oregon head women’s soccer coach Kacey Bingham has been named as the chair of the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Committee.

Bingham started her term as chair on September 1. The Division II Women’s Soccer Committee is charged with conducting the Division II women’s soccer championship and develops policies and procedures to administer the championship in an efficient and orderly manner. It oversees selections to the national championship and members serve as the NCAA representative during preliminary-round competition and the championship finals.

She and her committee will oversee the Division II Women’s Soccer Championship that will be held this December in Seattle.

"I’m excited for this opportunity to serve. I hope to represent Western Oregon University, the GNAC and Division II soccer well,” Bingham said. “This is an exciting time of the year and I’m happy to do what I can to support the hard-working players and programs in NCAA Division II soccer."

In addition to her national chair duties, Bingham is the chair of the sport’s Regional Advisory Committee for the West Region, which advises the national committee in the selection of the championship field.

Now in her fourth season as Western Oregon head coach, Bingham led the Wolves to an appearance in the 2019 GNAC Women’s Soccer Championships and was named the conference’s Coach of the Year. Prior to her arrival in Monmouth, Bingham spent one season as an assistant coach at Division I Saint Mary’s (Calif.).

Before Saint Mary’s, Bingham served six seasons as head coach at Dixie State when it was a Division II member and seven seasons as head coach at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona.
