PORTLAND, Ore. – After leading Seattle Pacific to a successful California road trip over Thanksgiving week, which included a win over the defending national runners-up, the Falcons’ Divant’e Moffitt leads the selections for GNAC Players of the Week.

The sophomore guard was named the Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after he finished with 43 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds and five steals as the Falcons posted a 75-55 win at Sonoma State on Tuesday and a 96-89 win at Point Loma on Saturday. He shot 63.6 percent from the field over the week and made 13 of 14 from the free throw line.

Moffitt contributed 14 points at Sonoma State, converting on 6 of 8 from the floor to go with three steals, two assists and two rebounds. He then exploded for a career-high 29 points against the defending national runner-up Sea Lions, converting on 8 of 14 from the field and 13 of 14 from the free throw line. His line also included seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals.

Central Washington senior guard Alexis Pana was named the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after she finished with 40 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals in a split of games at the Holiday Inn Cherry Creek Classic in Denver. Pana shot 44.8 percent from the field in the tournament and was a perfect 8 of 8 from the free throw line.

Pana opened with 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a block in Friday’s 60-48 win over Colorado Christian. She then posted a game-high 28 points on 9 of 17 from the field, 4 of 9 from three-point range and 6 of 6 from the free throw line in a 69-67 loss to host MSU Denver on Saturday. Her line also included four rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block.

Both teams will pause their non-conference schedules for the first week of GNAC play. The Seattle Pacific men play at Central Washington on Thursday and at Northwest Nazarene on Saturday. The Central Washington women host Seattle Pacific on Thursday and Saint Martin’s on Saturday.

Moffitt opened the week with 14 points in Tuesday’s 75-55 win at Sonoma State, making 6 of 8 from the field. He then erupted for a career-high 29 points to lead SPU in a 96-89 win at defending national runner-up Point Loma. He shot 8 of 14 from the field and 11 of 12 from the free throw line in the game to go along with seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals.
