PORTLAND, Ore. – GNAC Insider returned Tuesday at 7 p.m. (PT) as basketball season is officially underway. Among the episode’s guests were the coaches of two well-established GNAC basketball programs as well as the team captain of a soccer program that has made great strides in 2019.

Leading off the episode was Randi Richardson-Thornley, Central Washington’s head women’s basketball coach. The Wildcats finished in fourth place last year with a 12-8 conference record but were selected as the preseason favorites in the 2019-20 GNAC Preseason Women’s Basketball Coaches Poll.

Central Washington will look to make it to the GNAC Championships for the sixth straight year in 2019-20. The Wildcats return four starters from last season’s team and are primed to make a run for a GNAC title.

In his first season as head coach of the Saint Martin’s men’s basketball program, Aaron Landon joined the show. The Saints won the GNAC regular-season title in 2018-19 but are in a rebuilding process after losing all five starters from last season. Landon will look to lead a new-look SMU team back to the GNAC Championships.

Serving as team captain of the Montana State Billings men’s soccer team in 2019, junior defender Luca Battistotti also joined the show. Battistotti is a two-time Honorable Mention All-GNAC selection from San Rocco al Porto, Italy. The Yellowjackets are 5-3-1 in GNAC play and sit in second place in the conference standings.
