PORTLAND, Ore. – GNAC Insider aired its 84th episode on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Pacific time. The show featured Saint Martin’s softball third baseman Megan Miller, Alaska head men’s basketball coach Mick Durham and Alaska Anchorage track and field pentathlete Karolin Anders.

Miller is a senior third baseman for the Saint Martin’s softball team. She is a four year starter, earning Second Team All-GNAC honors as a junior. Last season she hit .324 in 179 at-bats, driving in 30 runs with two home runs. Miller helped lead the Saints to first place in the regular season last year and a berth into the NCAA Division II Championships. This season, the Saints are off to a hot start with a 13-2 overall record. They are coming off a 4-1 record at the Northwest Cup last weekend. The Saints host three doubleheaders this weekend before getting set for GNAC play on Mar. 5 and 6, on the road at Western Oregon and Concordia.

Durham is in his fifth season as head men’s basketball coach at Alaska, helping lead the Nanooks this season to their third GNAC Championships appearance in four years. Alaska is currently tied for second in the GNAC with in-state rivals Alaska Anchorage, looking for a first round bye as the No. 2 seed. The team is coming off its biggest win of the season on Thursday, defeating No. 1 ranked Western Oregon 87-78. The Nanooks will be on the road this week at Central Washington and at Northwest Nazarene. The Nanooks’ 13-5 GNAC record has already surpassed their top record in the Durham-era, when they finished 12-6 in the 2013-14 season.

Anders is a senior pentathlete for the Alaska Anchorage track and field team, coming off two individual titles at the GNAC Indoor Track and Field Championships this last weekend. She won her third consecutive pentathlon while also winning her second straight title in the long jump. After the meet, she was awarded the Most Outstanding Athlete of the Meet after becoming the all-time leading indoor meet point scorer with a total of 112 career points. Anders’ performance also led the Seawolves to the team title for the third time in four years. She is qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in the pentathlon and the high jump.
