BILLINGS, Mont. - Montana State University Billings has announced the naming rights to its softball facility have been purchased by Avitus Group, effective April 1, 2014.

The term of the contract is set for five years, and will enable MSUB to build a new press box, paint the scoreboard, and make other improvements to the facility.

“A special thanks goes out to the entire Avitus Group staff for making this happen,” MSUB Athletic Director Krista Montague said. “Avitus Group is a first class organization, and we couldn’t be more excited to have our softball facility be named Avitus Group Stadium.”

Construction of the new press box will begin following MSUB’s last softball contest April 12, and will be completed by the end of summer. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 11, 12:30 pm, prior to the first game of a doubleheader between MSUB and Northwest Nazarene. 

A representative from Avitus Group will throw out the first pitch.

“Avitus Group makes it a priority to give back to the community where our company started,” Avitus Group Marketing & Public Relations Director, Dianne Parker said. 

“We’re excited to support MSUB Athletics and the higher education system in Montana. These students are the future, and we can think of no better cause than to support the next generation as they make education a priority.”
