Bellingham, Wash. - The Seattle Pacific women’s soccer team fell to fourth seed Cal State Stanislaus in double overtime in the first round of the NCAA tournament Thursday at Harrington Field in Bellingham, Wash.

CSUS scored 1:45 into the second overtime period after the Falcons tied the match with less than seven minutes to go in regulation.

The Warriors advance to play No. 1 seed and host Western Washington on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the West Region semifinals.

The GNAC tournament champions see their season come to a close with a 12-5-3 overall record.

In the opening 45 minutes, Seattle Pacific had a few chances to put the ball in the net. Hannah Huesers had two shots on goal and Kelly Gould had a shot that hit the post, but none got past Cal State Stanislaus.

The Falcons faced nine first half shots from the Warriors, but held the match to a scoreless tie until the half.

After two early shots from SPU in the second half, CSUS took advantage of a corner kick and scored in the 52nd minute.

With time winding down and their season in the balance, the Falcons Huesers took in a pass from Shayla Page and scored with a shot just over the keepers head to tie the match with less than seven minutes remaining.

The Warriors had two great chances to score just before the end of regulation, but the Flacons made two terrific saves to keep the match a 1-1 draw to force overtime.

Even on a cold night, the offenses were high powered for both teams. Through the end of regulation play, the Falcons totaled 15 shots with five on goal while half of Cal State Stanislaus' 16 shots were between the posts.

Seattle Pacific had a few shots in the first overtime period compared to Cal State Stanislaus’ one, but there was still no score by the end of overtime one.

The Warriors worked the ball to the right side of the pitch early in the second overtime and scored on their first shot from 12 yards out, ending the Falcons season.

Huesers led the Falcons with six shots with three shots on goal and a score. The GNAC Player of the Year and championship MVP Isabel Farrell added three shots with one on goal while Gould and Heather Young had two shots each.
