PORTLAND, Ore. – Western Washington women’s soccer senior Kristin Maris was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America second-team All-American and a Daktronics honorable mention pick, while junior defender and teammate Brianna Jones was tabbed as a Daktronics first-team selection.

Maris was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Jones was the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year as the Vikings won the conference regular-season title for the second straight season with a 13-1-0 record in GNAC play. The Vikings advanced to the NCAA Final Four for the first time in school history, falling to defending national champion West Florida in the semifinals on Thursday.

Also earning Daktronics All-America honors was WWU sophomore Catherine Miles, who led the GNAC in scoring with 15 goals this season. Her 24 career goals put her 11th all-time in the WWU record books after just two seasons.

Karenee Demery of Cal State Stanislaus was tabbed as the 2013 Daktronics national Player of the Year.
