PORTLAND, Ore. - Six consecutive wins to begin the season have propelled Montana State Billings to a No. 4 ranking in this week’s NSCAA West Regional women’s soccer poll.

The Yellowjackets, who host Saint Martin’s Thursday before heading to Nampa for a game with Northwest Nazarene Saturday, have outscored their opponents 12-2 during their winning streak.

Western Washington, which earned a No. 7 ranking in the regional poll, has similar goal totals.  The Vikings have outscored their opponents by a 13-2 count.  Both the Yellowjackets and Vikings rank 12th nationally in goals against and 20th shutout percentage.

In individual statistics, MSUB forward Jaucelyn Richter ranks fourth in assists with five.  Caley Wiseman of Saint Martin’s ranks 12th in assists with four.  MSUB goalie Alexandra Johnson ranks 12th in save percentage with a .929 percentage.

MILESTONES: Western Washington coach Travis Connell set a school record for career wins as he recorded his 105th and 106th  victories with last weekend’s victories at Western Oregon and Saint Martin’s.  Dominic Garguile, who coached at WWU from 1981 to 1990, held the old record with 105 wins.
