PORTLAND, Ore. – Western Washington sophomore Jenn Paul was selected to the Women’s Golf Coaches Assocation Division II All-West Region team. The sophomore was one of 10 women’s golfers in the region to receive the honor.

Paul was named the GNAC co-Women’s Golfer of the Year after leading the GNAC with an average round score of 75.47. She led Western Washington to the top overall average round score in the GNAC at 306.2 and led the Vikings to their first NCAA Division II Super Regional Championships since 2011.

Paul finished in the top-five in four of her nine tournaments, including a first place finish at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout on Mar. 7 and 8. In her medalist effort, she shot a season-best score of 143, including a single-round low of 69 to win the 73 player tournament.

The sophomore also placed second at the Western Washington Invite on Oct. 12 and 13 and took third place at the GNAC Championships on Apr. 18 and 19. She became the first Viking golfer to be selected to the All-Region team since 2011.

The All-Region teams consist of the top 10 players in each region and are selected by the WGCA Division II Awards Committee, with the winner of each regional tournament receiving an automatic selection.

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition.
