PORTLAND, Ore. – The GNAC Player of the Year, Megan Mullings, added another award to her resume on Monday.

After leading the Alaska Anchorage women’s basketball team to the GNAC regular season title, the GNAC Championships title and now to the West Region finals, Mullings has been selected to the D2CCA All-West Region First Team.

Mullings leads the Seawolves this season with 16.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. She was named the GNAC Player of the Year and is receiving her second straight All-West Region selection.

Alaska Anchorage plays in the finals of the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball West Regionals against UC San Diego on Monday at 7 p.m. in Azusa, Calif.

Joining Mullings on the first team is West Region Player of the Year Kelly Hardeman from Azusa Pacific. The senior led the Cougars to the PacWest championship and a top seed in the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament this season.

Hardeman is a three-time PacWest first-team selection and former conference freshman of the year.  This season she is averaging 17.3 points and 9.2 rebounds, recording 12 double-doubles on the season.

Joining Mullings and Hardeman as first team selections are Farrah Shokoor (UC San Diego), Cassidy Mihalko (California Baptist), and Jasmin Guinn (Academy of Art).

Both Hardeman and Shokoor gain a first-team selection after earning player of the year recognitions in their respective conference.

Hardeman and Mullings earned their second-straight first-team selection, and Shokoor gets her second selection to the all-region team, earning second-team recognition last season.

All five players on the first-team will now move on to a national vote and are eligible to earn a spot on the D2CCA All-America team.

The PacWest landed three players on the second team with Taylor Mann (Dixie State), Kamille Diaz(California Baptist), and Allyssa Weathered (Dominican), followed by a pair of California Collegiate Athletic Association in Breanne Garcia (Cal State Dominguez Hills) and Tori Breshers (Cal State East Bay).

In total, the PacWest landed six players on the all-region team, followed by the CCAA with two and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference one. The 2016 D2CCA All-West Regional Women’s Basketball teams were nominated and voted upon by the region’s sports information directors.
