PORTLAND, Ore.  –   Seattle Pacific University guard Suzanna Ohlsen was perfect in the classroom throughout her four-year academic career.

She wasn’t that far off, either, on the basketball court.

So it’s really no surprise she has been voted the 2014-15 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the conference’s athletic directors.

Ohlsen saw only one grade on her report card the past four years: “A”.

Earlier this spring, she was selected the women’s basketball NCAA Division II Academic All-American of the Year in recognition of her perfect 4.00 GPA and her basketball accomplishments.

She is just the second women’s basketball player in GNAC history to earn first team CoSIDA Women’s Basketball Academic All-American honors.

She is also the first GNAC player to be named to the CoSIDA Women's Basketball Academic team twice. In addition to this year's first-team honor, she was a third-team pick last year.

Three times she has been voted to the GNAC Academic All-Conference team.

She finished her playing career ranked in the GNAC All-Time Top 20 in scoring (17th, 1,394 points), assists (17th, 338) and steals (14th, 194).

Ohlsen also ranks second all-time in career free throw percentage converting on 87.2 percent of her attempts (260 of 298).  At one point in her junior and senior seasons she made 49 in a row.

This past season, she finished third in the GNAC in scoring (17.7), fifth in steals (2.3), sixth in assists (3.9) and ninth in free throw percentage (.832) to earn first team GNAC all-conference honors.

\She was also voted to the WBCA and Division II Bulletin All-American teams, earning honorable mention honors.

In 2014 she was a second team all-conference selection.

Ohlsen, who graduated from Monroe High School, will now be a very strong candidate for the 2015 Conference Commissioners Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, which will be selected this summer.
