PORTLAND, Ore. - Western Washington is ranked ninth and Simon Fraser is 17th in the inaugural WBCA regular-season national poll of the 2012-13 season.

The Vikings, who host the Lynda Goodrich Classic this weekend, are off to a 2-0 start.   Simon Fraser, meanwhile, has won four of five games to earn its first-ever  NCAA national ranking.  The Clan host Cal State Stanislaus for a pair of games this weekend.

Alaska Anchorage is among "others receiving votes" in this week's poll and is 29th overall.  That ends a string of 82 consecutive weeks in which the Seawolves had been ranked in the national poll dating back to the beginning of the 2007-08 season.

UAA, however, may have made a case for getting back into the rankings Tuesday pounding North Dakota State 73-47 in the opening round of the Great Alaska Shootout.  UAA plays Utah State today in the championship game.
