PORTLAND, Ore. – A total of 41 student-athletes have been named to the 2013 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference volleyball team.

Leading the academic team with perfect 4.00 GPAs are Alaska Anchorage sophomore Sarah Johnson and Saint Martin’s sophomore Carrie Starbuck.  Johnson is a nursing major, while Starbuck is studying business.

Eighteen of the student-athletes are repeat selections from a year ago including six who were selected to the team for the third time.  Those include Siobhan Johansen of Alaska Anchorage, Keri Knight of Alaska Fairbanks, Erin Smith of Central Washington, Taylor Adams of MSU Billings, Becky Blees of Western Oregon and Emily Boerger of Western Washington. Both Boerger and Adams have 3.89 GPAs.

To be eligible for the academic team, student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university.
