PORTLAND, Ore. - Outside hitter Marlayna Geary of Western Washington has been selected to the AVCA and Daktronics All-American volleyball teams.

Geary was a first team AVCA All-American selection and earned honorable mention honors on the Daktronics team which is selected by the nation’s sports information directors.  The AVCA team is picked by the coaches.

Earning second team AVCA honors were Viking libero Samantha Hutchinson and Central Washington middle blocker Erin Smith.  Middle blocker Krissi Kemper of Western Oregon was a AVCA third team pick.

ALL-AMERICAN

AVCA:  First Team - Marlayna Geary, WWU (OH, 5-10, Sr., Tacoma, WA – Bellarmine Prep).  Second Team - Samantha Hutchinson, WWU (L, 5-8, So., University Place, WA); Erin Smith, CWU (MB, 5-10, Jr., Selah, WA). Third Team - Krissi Kemper, WOU (MB, 5-11, Jr., Prineville, OR – Crook County). Daktronics: Honorable Mention - Marlayna Geary, WWU (OH, 5-10, Sr., Tacoma, WA – Bellarmine Prep).
