NEW ORLEANS – In it’s annual listing of the best in each region, a total of 55 GNAC athletes have been selected as U.S. Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Outdoor Track and Field All-West Region performers.

A total of 32 women and 23 men were named to the squad, which recognizes the top-five individuals in each event per region and the top three-relay teams. A total of 671 men and 621 women earned all-region honors nationwide.

Alaska Anchorage led all GNAC schools with 12 selections, seven men and five women. Topping the list of Seawolves’ selections is GNAC men’s 10,000-meter champion Edwin Kangogo, men’s high jump champion Tevin Gladden, heptathlon champion Karolin Anders and women’s 400-meter champion Vanessa Aniteye. Members of UAA’s men’s and women’s 4x400-meter relay team were also honored.

Simon Fraser finished with 11 selections, nine women and two men. The Clan’s selections included GNAC men’s 400-meter champion Daniel Kelloway, women’s 100 and 200-meter champion Katherine Lucas and women’s 800-meter champion Addy Townsend. Members of SFU’s women’s 4x100-meter relay team were also honored.

Other recently crowned GNAC men’s champions selected for All-West Region honors include Montana State Billings’ Sam Zook (100 and 200 meters), Northwest Nazarene’s Payton Lewis (pole vault), Saint Martin’s Kauanoe Vanderpoel (hammer), Western Oregon’s Wesley Gray (triple jump) and David Ribich (800 meters and 1,500 meters); and Western Washington’s Alex Barry (javelin).

Other women’s GNAC champions selected for the All-West Region team include Central Washington’s Emily Bland (100-meter hurdles), McKenna Emmert (pole vault), Alexa Shindruk (10,000 meters) and Mariyah Vongsaveng (400-meter hurdles); Seattle Pacific’s Kyra Brannan (long jump) and Western Washington’s Bethany Drake (javelin), Brittany Grant (steeplechase) and Jasmine McMullin (triple jump).
