2010 GNAC Softball Players-of-the-Week

Eugenio Trenary

Week of Feb. 8-14: Player - Joslyn Eugenio, Saint Martin's (1B-DH-P, 5-3, Fr., Kapolei, HI – Sacred Hearts) batted .500 with eight hits in 16 at bats. Among her hits were three doubles and a home run and she also drove in four runs as the Saints posted a 1-4 record in the MSUB Desert Stinger Classic in Las Vegas. Pitcher – Lindsey Trenary, Montana State Billings (5-9, Jr., Helena, MT – Capital) pitched in three of MSUB's five games in Las Vegas, allowing just three hits and no runs in 7 2/3 innings. She walked two and fanned seven and picked up a win in relief against Chadron State.

Monson Trenary

Week of Feb. 22-28: Player - Danielle Monson, Central Washington (OF, 5-2, Sr., Maryville, WA – Pilchuck) was the table-setter all weekend as the Wildcats won three of four games with Western Oregon. Batting leadoff, she reached base 10 times in 16 plate appearances, banging out eight hits and scoring seven runs. She also walked once and was hit by a pitch. Among her hits was a leadoff triple in Monday's 3-1 win to set up the final run in the contest. Pitcher – Lindsay Trenary, Montana State Billings (5-9, Jr., Helena, MT – Capital) was the only pitcher to record two victories on the opening weekend of conference play. She gave up 15 hits, but just two runs in 14 innings to improve to 3-0 on the season. On Sunday she blanked Western Washington 2-0 on nine hits, then pitched a six-hitter in a 4-2 victory on Monday. She walked four and fanned three in the two complete game performances.

Dotlich Hadenfeld

Week of Mar. 1-7: Player - Caitlin Dotlich, Western Washington (SS, 5-6, Jr., Sedro-Woolley, WA – Burlington-Edison) had nine hits in 14 at bats, including a pair of doubles and a triple, to lead the Vikings to a four-game road sweep of Northwest Nazarene. She had a total of six RBIs, including key ones in three of the four victories. Pitcher – Lauren Hadenfeld, Central Washington (6-0, Jr., Vancouver, WA – Evergreen & MHCC) earned three victories and also carved out a 0.41 ERA as the Wildcats took over first place in the conference winning three of four games against Saint Martin's. She allowed just one run and 13 hits in 17 innings. She walked three and struck out 23.

Haupert White

Player - Kelsey Haupert, Central Washington (5-6, Jr., Olympia, WA – Black Hills), powered the Wildcats to a four-game road sweep of Western Washington , homering three times and driving in 10 runs. She had a grand slam in the third inning of Saturday's opener as CWU opened up a 8-2 win on the way to a 8-7 victory. In Saturday's second game, her two-run third-inning home run keyed a five-run frame in a 8-3 victory. She went deep for the third time in the series in Sunday's second game extending a 3-1 lead to 6-1 in the fifth. On the season Haupert is tied for the conference lead in home runs with five and is the conference leader with 25 RBI. Her RBI per game pace of 1.79 is more than double the average of anyone else in the league. Pitcher – Kelsey White, Western Oregon (5-6, Fr., Salem, OR – North Salem), allowed just one run in 12 1/3 innings covering three games as the Wolves won three of four games at Saint Martin's. White was credited with the victory in two of the games as she improved her record to 4-0. She currently leads the GNAC with a 1.20 earned run average.
