PORTLAND, Ore. - A total of  32 student-athletes have been named to the 2014 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Softball Academic all-conference team.

Heading up the softball academic team is Central Washington second baseman Jill McDaniels, who has a 3.95 GPA.  Katie Schermele of Montana State Billings has the second highest GPA (3.92) among the 32 honorees.

Twelve of the all-academic players are repeat selections including two – Marie Gau of Central Washington and Lacey McGladrey of Saint Martin’s -  who were selected for the third time.  

Central Washington and Montana State Billings led the selections placing eight players on the academic all-conference team.  Western Oregon earned seven spots and Saint Martin’s had six on the academic team.  Northwest Nazarene placed three on the team.
