PORTLAND, Ore. – Concordia will not be eligible for most Division II All-American honors until becoming full NCAA members next year, but that hasn’t stopped senior softball player Meghan Luebbert from becoming a three-time All-American.

Luebbert has been selected for the third time as an Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), which released its 2017 Division II Softball All-America Team on May 24. It is the second consecutive season that Luebbert has been recognized as a Division II First Team All-American. She first earned Academic All-American honors in 2015, being selected to the College Division second team in the Cavaliers’ final season as NAIA members.

Luebbert graduated from Concordia in early May and finished with a 3.80 cumulative grade point average as a nursing major.

In addition to the Academic All-America honors, Luebbert earned First Team All-GNAC honors for the second straight season along with All-West Region laurels from both the NFCA and D2CCA.

Luebbert was the top offensive player for Concordia, finishing third in the GNAC with a .453 batting average. She also amassed a .703 slugging percentage and .528 on-base percentage with team-highs of 67 hits, 51 runs scored, 15 doubles and 13 stolen bases. Luebbert finished her career as the GNAC leader in batting average (.449) and third all-time in both on-base percentage (.509) and slugging percentage (.786).

The 2016 GNAC Softball Player of the Year, Luebbert was a two-time First Team All-GNAC selection in addition to earning First Team All-Cascade Collegiate Conference honors in her freshman and sophomore seasons. She was a NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 2015.

Luebbert is one of six repeat selections to the Division II Academic All-America Softball Team and is the only three-time selection honored.
