INDIANAPOLIS – Rebekah Gasner, the director of compliance and senior woman administrator at Montana State Billings, has been selected to serve a four-year team on the NCAA Division II Softball Committee.

Gasner, a former softball student-athlete at MSUB, will begin her term in August. She will serve on the committee until 2023. She moves onto the national committee after serving two years on the Division II Softball West Regional Advisory Committee.

“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to serve on the national committee,” Gasner said. “These past two years serving on the RAC have been very eye-opening in terms of how close our regional teams really are in regards to rankings, and it has been even more exciting to watch the strength of our GNAC softball programs grow. I am looking forward to serving at the national level for the next four years and helping student-athletes have a great NCAA championship experience.”

Comprised of one representative from each of Division II’s eight regions, the Division II Softball National Committee is charged with the execution of the annual Division II Softball Championship. The committee oversees the selection process of the field and helps ensure the successful execution of the tournament on-site. In her role, Gasner will serve as chair of the West Regional Advisory Committee.

Prior to moving into her administrative role at Montana State Billings, Gasner served five seasons as an assistant softball coach for the Yellowjackets and was the program’s interim head coach in 2016. As a student-athlete, Gasner finished her MSUB career among the school’s top-five in earned run average, strikeouts, innings pitched and shutouts.
