NORMAN, Okla. - Western Washington men's golfers Jordan Lee and Nick Sparling have been selected as members of the 2018-19 NCAA Division II PING All-West Region team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Lee led the conference in scoring average in his first collegiate season, finishing the year with 72.3 strokes per round. The freshman earned GNAC first-team honors and was named both GNAC Player and Freshman of the Year.

Ending the season with 16 rounds of par or better, his best performance came in the form of a final-round 66 (5-under-par) at the GNAC Championships. The number pushed Lee into a tie for second individually at Coeur d'Alene while helping the Vikings to their seventh team title of the 2018-19 season. Lee ultimately ended the year with a trio of top-three finishes, earning medalist honors back in October at the Concordia Invitational.

Just behind Lee on the GNAC stroke average list is Sparling, ranking second with 72.6 strokes per round. Completing a stellar senior season in Bellingham, Sparling led Western Washington with 17 rounds of par of better.

His year was headlined with a tie for second at the NDNU Argonaut Invitational in Livermore, Calif. back in March. The senior opened the tournament with rounds of 72 and 70 to lead the Vikings to their final tournament title of the regular season.

Lee and Sparling are two of 104 players across eight regions - East, Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, South Central, Central and West - to earn all-region honors for the 2018-19 campaign.
