PORTLAND, Ore. – Two of the conference's six women's golf teams were in action in late March and early April across events in Pueblo, Colo. and Caldwell, Idaho.

Both Simon Fraser and Northwest Nazarene had successful outings as the Clan finished in fifth place at the El Cheapo Classic and the Nighthawks won a dual match at College of Idaho.

Junior Jaya Rampuri led the way for SFU in its seventh tournament of the 2018-19 campaign, finishing with rounds of 70 and 78 to place 12th against a large field. In Caldwell, sophomore Ragan McGilvery and senior Stephanie Miller shared medalist honors with matching scores of 4-over-par.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE
• The Nighthawks lifted the lid on the month of April with a victory at College of Idaho in their spring dual match.

• Northwest Nazarene put together a total score of 319 in Caldwell. The event was just the team's second of the spring season.

• Sophomore Ragan McGilvery and senior Stephanie Miller topped NNU in the match, shooting a 4-over-par 76 on the day. The scores were 11 strokes better than the Yotes top finishers.

• It's Miller who leads Northwest Nazarene in scoring average at 80.7. Freshman Taylor Entenman ranks second at a clip of 82.4. 

• The Nighthawks will be back in action next week, taking to Santa Rosa, Calif. for the Sonoma State Spring Invitational on Apr. 8-9 at Santa Rosa Country Club.  

SIMON FRASER
• Simon Fraser ended the month of March in style, placing fifth at the El Cheapo Classic. In total, 16 teams and 80 individuals were competing at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colo.

• Junior Jaya Rampuri led the Clan, carding a 4-over total of 148 to finish in 12th place. Senior Belinda Lin was one stroke back of her teammate and finished in a tie for 13th.

• The team has been paced by Rampuri throughout the 2018-19 campaign. The junior's 77.3 scoring average leads SFU and ranks fourth in the league.

• Up next for SFU is the Sonoma State Spring Invitational at Santa Rosa Country Club in Santa Rosa, Calif. The tournament will run from Apr. 8-9.
