PORTLAND, Ore. - GNAC Insider returned Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. (PST) with a crossover-season special to open up the month of November.

Leading off the show was Grant Landy, the head coach of the Concordia women's soccer team. Landy has been at the helm in Portland since 1997.

It's a huge week for the Cavaliers, who will host their West Region pod in the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships on Thursday and Saturday. The club enters the national tournament with a record of 14-1-3, including a 7-0-2 mark at home.

Landy's team is coming off its first-ever GNAC Championships title, clinched on Saturday when forward Sydney Van Steenberge found the back of the net to give her team a 2-1 overtime victory over top-seeded Western Washington. Concordia will return to the pitch on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. against a familiar foe in Seattle Pacific.

Out in Billings, Montana State Billings men's basketball team is preparing for its regular season opener on Friday, Nov. 9 at Point Loma. The Yellowjackets just returned from Las Vegas, where they played UNLV tight all the way to the buzzer in an 83-81 exhibition defeat.

The man in charge at MSUB is Mick Durham, who is in his first season with the team. Durham, a Three Forks, Mont., native, was the head coach at Alaska from 2011-2018. He joined the show to talk about the transition from Fairbanks to Billings, last week's game against the Runnin' Rebels and much more.

GNAC Insider was also joined by Northwest Nazarene women's basketball head coach Steve Steele. Steele's Nighthawks enter the 2018-19 campaign as the GNAC preseason favorite, as voted by the conference's coaches last month. The team split its two exhibition contests, the most recent one coming at Division I Oregon State, and will tip-off the regular season on Nov. 9 against Stanislaus State.
