PORTLAND, Ore. - Lindsay Aho, a former standout for the Concordia women's golf program during the program's NAIA days, is returning to the school as director of golf.

"I am thrilled to welcome Lindsay back to Concordia as our Director of Golf," said Concordia Vice President & Director of Athletics Lauren Eads. "Her experience as a collegiate and professional golfer paired with her strong leadership abilities makes her the perfect choice to lead our golf programs in this new NCAA Division II era.  She will build upon the existing strong foundation of CU golf, of which she is an integral part, and continue the tradition of developing highly competitive golfers and successful college graduates.  It's great to have her back in the Navy and White."

Aho is a 2011 graduate of Concordia University with a Bachelor of Education degree in education and a minor in world religions.  She is currently working on her Master's of Business Administration from Concordia Nebraska.  The Brush Prairie, Wash., native was a member of the Cavalier women's golf team from 2008 to 2010.  She was a two-time Collegiate Golf All-American and also was a participant on The Big Break Florida on The Golf Channel.  The newest member to the Concordia athletic staff was a three-time Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Year (2008, 2009 and 2010).

"I had the honor of playing golf at Concordia University Portland and loved the university's commitment to excellence for education and athletics," said Aho. "I am so thrilled to be returning to Concordia now as the director of golf for the men's and women's team."   

Besides her athletic achievements, Aho was a 2010 NAIA Scholar-Athlete recipient along with being a 2010 First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII First Team selection.  In 2009 and 2010, Aho was named to the Academic All-Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Team. 

"Concordia's golf teams have been known for its outstanding student-athletes since the program started, and I am excited to continue to grow the program and keep the tradition going," added Aho. 

Aho won 13 collegiate golf events from 2006-2010.  She was the recipient of the Athlete of the Year Award at Concordia in 2010.  In 2013, she won the Pepsi Northwest Women's Professional Golf Tournament.  Aho has been a member of many charities including the Key Club, First Tee of Cleveland, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Phoenix Carver Restoration. 

After graduation from Concordia, Aho worked at The Cedars On Salmon Creek Golf Course from 2006-2010.  After that, she was the assistant coach at her alma mater from 2011 to 2012.  Aho then was a professional golfer on the Symetra Tour, Cactus Tour and Canadian Tour from 2013 to 2015.  She also worked at the Sunridge Canyon Golf Course from 2014 to 2016. 

Aho becomes the fifth Director of Golf at Concordia taking over the reins from John Wurzer who left the post earlier this month for personal reasons.
